The neighborhoods of this precinct are close-knit residential areas.
Construction began in the early 1950s on the southern part of the
precinct and it now has a stable population that enjoys the neighborliness
of the area.
The
most westerly part of the precinct is a residential plateau that
faces Chester Creek Valley and Merrill Air Field. The northern edge
dips into the area east of Merrill Field, contains Penland Park,
and borders one of Anchorage's major shopping malls. At the southern
boundary is Nichols Park, where the community plans to add landscaping
and additional recreational opportunities. And, finally, on the
eastern side is Grandview Gardens and Bragaw Road.
We
need a leader who will fight for the health and safety of our children
and neighborhoods.
As president of a community council and member of her community
patrol, Sharon Cissna has worked to build neighborhood health and
safety. Neighborhoods can solve many of their own problems. Our state
resources need to be spent building and maintaining crucial
infrastructure and solving problems. Our state’s wealth is being
squandered on divisive legal suits and court actions.
